Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what Flockmath does and does not do with your information when you visit flockmath.com (the "Site"). We're a small, ad-supported site — we don't have a complicated data pipeline, and we like keeping it that way.

The short version

  • We don't ask you for your name, email, or any personal information to use the calculators.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are popular.
  • We show ads from Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
  • We don't sell or share any data we collect with anyone, ever.
  • You can opt out of personalized ads at any time (see below).

What we collect

Things you type in

Calculator inputs (number of birds, climate, etc.) stay in your browser. We don't send those values to a server. We don't log them. They're only used to compute the result you see.

Things sent automatically

Like every website, Flockmath receives the standard request information your browser sends with every visit:

  • Page URL you requested
  • Approximate location (city or region) inferred from your IP address
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Referring page (if any)

We use this through Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and which need work. We don't tie this information to your name or email — we don't have those.

Cookies

Flockmath itself sets minimal first-party cookies. Third parties we work with set their own:

  • Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid) to distinguish unique visitors and track session activity.
  • Google AdSense may set cookies (including the DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so won't affect calculator functionality — the math runs locally.

Google AdSense and personalized ads

Flockmath displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to Flockmath and other websites.

Even after opting out, you'll still see ads — they just won't be personalized.

What we don't collect

  • We don't ask for your email, phone number, address, or payment information.
  • We don't have user accounts. There's nothing to sign up for.
  • We don't sync data across devices, because there's no data to sync.
  • We don't sell, rent, or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar regulations elsewhere, you have rights to:

  • Know what personal data is collected about you
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of that data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we don't sell data)

Because we don't collect personally-identifying information from you, most of these rights are satisfied by default. For requests about Google's data practices on this Site, contact Google directly through the links above. For anything else, email us at hello@flockmath.com.

Children's privacy

Flockmath is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

We sometimes link out to extension publications, hatcheries, or other resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we're not responsible for them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period after they take effect.
